Top five Catfish/Scammer tactics:

1) Profile is often fairly anonymous.
 Pictures are almost always of a young, attractive woman dressed up for a night or very sexual pictures, pictures in lingerie. Friends are all exclusively strangers, if they have no one that looks like they might be a relative. Posts on feed are more often a picture and comments by men saying how sexy they are, never a post from someone who actually knows them IRL.

2) Text based communication only
Catfish will refuse to EVER videochat, unlikely to use the phone also.  If they agree to use the phone, it will be send text messages, not to call on the phone.  This should be one of your first requests before you talk too often.

3) Sob Story
There is almost always a sick mother, father, child or they will some sort of issue that will come up in early communication.  Eventually this will be a shoe in to request money.

4) Increased intimacy
Catfish and fraudsters LOVE to ramp it up.  They like to move from hello - when are we getting married? in 0.2 seconds.  If you find a woman talking about moving in and babies before you have even seen each other, chances are she is a fake.

5) Relationship history oversharing
Often you will hear things like "I find it hard to trust, my trust was broken" Cue, stories about the love of her life cheated on her and now she needs time to get over it so you need to be patient with her and not push to actually SEE her....but this will be at the same time that she will often love to talk about your future babies and lovely long lives together.

Fraudsters and catfish have a script, learn it and catch them out!!!!
