Caprica and the group marriage

Ok, the group marriage turned up, without trying to give the plot points away, a teacher invited her pupil over for lunch and said 'these are my wives Jane, joanne and Jill and over there are my husbands Jim and John*' and the kid said something along the lines of 'Oh I know some kids from group marriages, they are pretty cool'

The end....unusual and yet, totally normalised....Oh what a blast!!! If only the world could be so accommodating and accepting now eh?  It is quite depressing when I realise just how backwards we as a society are and then, really, haven't we come far even in the last 40 years or so?

You know, part of me thinks that a group marriage (by that I mean bigger than a quad) would be pretty cool, think of all the conversations and the debates you can have?  But at the same time it probably could get pretty wild and a moment of peace will be a rare and beautiful thing.  I think having a intimate romantic relationship with so many people would be pretty unworkable, but then again, so many people think that about Poly relationships even in vees and triads and we know that is wrong!!!  So how can I assume that a group would be any less workable than my own three person committed relationship?

Mind you, the larger the group, the better the group has to be at communicating and working on issues.  Your relationship can easily become your full time job without any structure, rules or dedicated issues time....As a spontaneous person, it blows my mind...and yet, the idealistic Aquarian in me thinks that having more adults around will be totally cool and really fun, as long as not everyone was expected to be sexually intimate with everyone else.   Imagine the size of the house you would need though? Either lots of bedrooms or a huge flaming bed!!!!

N - imagining how she would fit two Superking sized beds together in her bedroom
